Things to do / Consider
1. Allow some time so that everything sinks in. 2. Observe the culture, it’ll be better if you know them beforehand. 3. Make your expectations known and know your employer expectations of you. 4. Ask lots of questions, Debby Johnson told me once – “It’s better to be a well informed pain in the as than a smart ass who knows nothing” 5. Ask questions to new colleagues regarding their work and /or job descriptions, you’ll need them as much as they need you. 6. Make friends, a workplace without a friend is a living hell. 7. Don’t be a know it all been there done that smart ass (you might be a big shot in your old place but respect the new employer’s employee).
Do this and hopefully your transition to a new job will be better.
